Growing up can be wonderful and challenging at the same time. I help adolescents 14 and up to feel heard, understood and to learn healthy ways of coping with difficulties. I encourage teen clients to develop their unique voice and individuality. I offer help to teens with everyday stress, anxiety, depression, body image, academic pressure, self-harming behaviors and self-esteem. We often work together to improve peer and family relationships. I especially enjoy helping with transitions such as adjustment to high school or preparing for college.
My doctoral dissertation was on Wilderness Experiences with Urban Adolescent Girls. One of the most significant findings was that a sense of accomplishment is what influences self-concept and self-esteem.
